I think many must be wondering should we consider a virtual private server?

Well, I think Virtual Private Server(VPS) is not just consider on the controlling resources our your shared, I think those that host it actually consider in term of the configuration that they would like control due to in shared enviroment everything is control by the technical. Where else, some use VPS to do testing environment before their they put their website online.

Many will said that having your own VPS, meaning everything have to be done by ourselves. It is true in way, but the actual facts is not all, if you do not know how, get assistance from the technical. I think they are willing to guide you on how to do it. Of course, you need to learn how to do it also. For me, I prefer to learn on how to do it because when you learn up a skill you actually teaching yourself how actually certain things works. However, if you prefer everything is done by the technical, I think most of the hosting provider they do come with a management service which help you to manage it.

It is good to start your very own VPS if your website have a lot of traffic. It is a good chance for you to learn up how to control your website and besides, VPS allows you to backup your website and you can revert your website back to the original one when you screw up the current one. The most important point is if your website grows and time to go to dedicated server, you does not need to worries about it because you already know how to do the configuration.

This is just my personal thought….

Previously, I thought owning a domain is not an important one because I thought of like after my website grow, I can get my domain anytime as there are so many extension coming up now a days.

But after thought sometime, I realise that if I don’t start with my own domain name and start a website with it, when my website grow big, people will not recognize me if I start to change my new website to my new domain name, instead they will recognize me on my current website name like adeline.iloveblog.com. In a way, I felt it is kind of waste, because when your branding is good, it is hard to change the reader to suit your new brand name as they already get use to it.

So reader out there, this is the time you get your own brand name or domain name. Start with your own name so that people know who you are and you can have your own personality through your own domain names.

after few week of MIA, just to let you all know, i am back to hillsboro finally but i need some time to settle down back to start writing my blog. It has been some time since my last update on the blog. Stay tune for new blog from me.

Tomorrow will travel to Seattle for Canada visa application and then i will be going to Vancouver Canada for vacation with my husband and my uncle that visit us from Singapore. This is my first time to visit Canada and I'm really looking forward for the trip. We will spend like 3 days in Seattle first to bring my uncle around since he never been to Seattle before and then we will travel to Canada at Monday. We might probably spend like 4-5 days there where we will visit Victoria island as well before we travel back to Portland. So guy and girl, i will be disappear from this blog for sometime and coming back from the trip, i will probably update something on this blog.. so stay tune.

My uncle will visit us this coming Friday which is tomorrow (30 March 2007). We will go to canada and hence we need to apply for canadian visa at Seattle. So, we need to take two passport size of photo for the visa application. Due to the requirement of the photo are different than the US visa photo, can you imagine that, lots of shop cannot take the photo for us. i was like "What, this one also cannot do?" Such an advance country but cannot even take canadian photo for us? My husband has already ask a few shop and the result still the same. We finally end up at this shop called Ritz camera and they told us as long as we tell them what we want, they can do it for us. phew.. finally we can get it but guess what, it cost of $14.95 person and we end up paying $29.90 for the photo which is is equivalent to > RM100 for 8 passport photo… wow! Anyway, most of the shop also charge about $10 for 2 photo but this one give us 4 for $14.95. We have to pay anyway since none of others shop nearby can do it for us. So, you guy, next time remember to take the photo in Malaysia before you come here and it can save you a lot of troublesome and money.

I learn this word form my husband and his friend. They always like to mention FAR FAR and FAR. so, finally one day i found out from them what is FAR. FAR mean Free After Rebate. In US, there is this custom that some shop will offer some FAR items which mean you pay first to buy the thing, get the receipt and then send the rebate together with the bar-code (Serial Number) that you cut out from the box to the rebate center (different product has different rebate center) and then wait for 8-12 weeks to get back the rebate check from the company. I still don't understand why they want to this. Maybe they want to used the money to do other stuff first, or they want to clear the old stock and hope for some people that didn't send in the rebate or etc. Actually the are some certain rules that you need to follow in order to fullfill the requirement to get back the rebate. So, if you do not read carefully on the rebate rule, you might lose your rebate. beware. We brought a lot of stuff from Fry's Electronic at last year Thanksgiving and heard from my husband, almost all the rebate he got back now. So, lots of items is already "officially" free now.

My husband and his friend like to buy FAR stuff from RiteAids (RA) since they said the rebate is the most easiest one and no need to send in anything. Just submit online and you gurantee will get back the money. So, since then, they always go to RA and get all the FAR stuff as long as it is available. We end up had a lot of free tooth brush, tooth paste, shampoo, conditional, hair gel and etc. really a very good deal. So, next time if you ever come to relo to US, better look for where is the RA shop and remember to shop for the FAR stuff. hehe 

I write this blog for quite sometime and I feel like I should write about my cousin because I find that I am lucky to have a very close and wonderful cousin. All our cousins are very close together when we have any occasion we will gather together.

Today, I would like to talk about my cousin S and GL.When I was small, my parent and brother stay together in rented house sharing together with my relatives. Since I was small, I already close to my cousin, S and GL.

GL is older than me by few years. During she was in Secondary school, she stay with us in our house because she stuied in Penang. Since I was small, GL acting like my sister taking care of S and me. She bring me to school sometime with her motorbikes. Sometimes, I follow her back to her hometown during holidays. I love following her back to her hometown because when I was small, I love sitting on the ferry and helping out my aunty selling economy rice and get to eat rice and "char kiam chai" as my lunch. I love going to her house because I always play with her brother and her brother's neighbour. I still remember her mum which is my aunt love me so much that she brought me gift when I help her out. There is the first place I learn my skatting from my cousin and his friends and my aunty wonderful gift which is a pair of skatting shoe. Since that day onward, I love skatting. Until now, my relationship was close and I treat her as my big sister.

I have another closer cousin, S. S is younger than me by 5 years. Her parent and her brother stay with us together in the same house. I watch her in my aunt stomach until today. She was like my younger sister to me. When she was baby, I help took care of her and accompany her to kindergarden. However, I would like to appologized to her because I accidentally drop her when I carried her. What I can remember is that I was a tiny girl and trying to carried her while my grandma is collecting the dried wash clothes from the outside. I accidentally drop her and she hurt her lips and she cried very loud. I was scolded by my aunt and I felt so guilty that I remember till now. When she grew to 4 years old, I always play with her. We played barbie doll, pretend game, sing song, gossip about artist and play in the playground. When I was in Standard 5, our parent move out the rented house and we have our own house. Even though we stay in different house, we still meet each other because my grandma took care of her and I. We share our story in our schools, things that we see, and we even do everything together. I still remember when I was in form three, I always cook egg and cheese as our tea time food. She loves nescafe a lot that every afternoon, I will make her and myself a cup of coffee. While watching cartoon or drama, we will ate our egg and sipping our coffee away. We are also know as sleeping queen because when we come back from school, we start to sleep until tea time.  I miss her a lot and miss her story about her life.

He is in therapy for his condition, but signs of progress in overcoming his psychological disorder are spotty at best.

Now working as a private consultant, Monk continues to investigate various cases using his vast intelligence and unconventional approaches. However, Monk would like nothing more than to gain back his position on the force. Can he pull himself together and get back to solving San Francisco's toughest crimes full time?

My opinion on this show:

I love this show a lot. I find that it is interesting to watch monk solving the case. He is a person of phobia of everything and when you watch the show, you realise, does this kind of person exist in the world. Sometime, I feel pity on him because due to his phobia no one actually like him accept for those that understand him.

It is quite funny also to watch him in solving case because he likes to do his weird character in order to solved a case and he can see things beyond normal people does. When he touch anything he expect his wipes to be around him for wipping his hand. He don't drink other type of water accept for sierra springs water because he found that sierra spring water is the purest water among all type of water.

I found that there is something which I am quite the same as Monk which is both of us scare of milk. I don't drink milk because I don't like the smell of the milk.

Today, I bring my friend YL to saburro again as last two days ago, we are not able to get a place because the place is crowded with people.

This time, we start our journey at 5.15pm to Saburro. We reach there about 5.54pm. I was so surprise with the number of people waiting outside the shop. When I check the list, our name was like queue at the number 25. My husband told me that weekday is having less people so we thought that maybe we either wait for about 30minutes. When we saw so many people waiting outside we like a bit worried to wait for the food. YL suggest that we just wait for it like about an hour. If still cannot get a place to sit, we can maybe plan to eat other places.

Today, the wheather is quite good but the problem is, it is too windy outside. YL and I hide at the bus stop to avoid the wind from blowing. While we are waiting, we chatting and sharing about  her work, my life over here, food, and etc. While chatting, I look at those people that is also waiting outside the shop. I am really impress of them(some of the guy wear short and some girls wear short skirt) as it is so windy and yet, they can stand there waiting for the waiter to call their name.

We waited about an hour just as we plan for the place to sit. We order about 7 types of sushi, a tempura and tofu. YL ask me whether the food is enough. Based on my calculation it is more than enough. This time, we sit in the middle between two tables of different group of people. When we saw the things that they order, I was like wondering whether the food that I order is more than enough or not. I thought if we do not have enough, then we need to get something from fast food because you cannot order second time in Saburro. Our tempura and tofu came first, within minutes, we finished the two dishes. We waited for quite sometime like about 30minutes for sushi. If we go during weekends, I believe the latest we only waited for about ten minutes for the sushi. During weekends, you will find that sushi come first before tempura. For today, the tempura comes first before the sushi. I am not sure why it is like this.

Overall, My husband and I enjoy the sushi and YL love the sushi and the side dishes a lot. We find that it is really different from Malaysia Japanese food. On the other hand, the size of sushi can make two to three pieces of sushi in sushi king. Imagine that.

On Sunday, I took my old friend, YL for a visit around portland town. I took her to the Saturday market and do some shopping in the downtown shopping complex. I did not bring her to like portland visiting places because she wants to do some shopping as she is going back this coming Saturday.

I took them to the big Ross in downtown. They have a great shopping at that shop and impress with the price in that shop for a branded stuff compare to outlets. We spend around two hours in that shop alone. Then we proceed to Llyod center. Before we go to Llyod center, we past by the Chinatown. My husband trying to find parking in Chinatown but it seem that all the public parking is already full. So we proceed going to Llyod center. Llyod center is a big shopping complex. It is bigger than the Washington square. We have our lunch in the food court then we start shopping again. We all did not walk the same places because we all want to see different thing. So we all goes our ways and meet again 5pm. My husband and I does not really have things to buy so we just accompany my friend, YL to buy her stuff. We go to Marshall, Forever21, Disney shop, Old Navy and FYE. We spend around like three hours in this few shops. Imagine that.

Then we proceed to Nike factory store in portland town. We spend another hour there. In that shop, my friend brought two pair of shoe and her colleague, S brought a pair of shoe. After the last shop, we try to bring them to saboro but when we reach there, we find there are too many waiting outside of the shop. So we thought maybe we try Italian. That shop was again pack with people so we end up eating Korean food, call Hae Rim. We have a wonderful food there and everyone seem to be very tired.

After the meal, we drop them off their hotel. What a day which full of event. I hope they enjoy the shopping trip that we bring them around. I myself enjoy it so much because that was the chance for me to spend more time with my friend and at the same time, meeting her friend which A and S.
